For the first time ever, the series that changed console gaming forever is available on PC. Six super hits in one epic collection.
This set includes all the games in the collection, which were released gradually, starting with
Halo: Reach and ending with
Halo 4 .
Halo: Reach . The game was developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was originally released on the Xbox 360 console in 2010, and was re-released on Xbox One and Windows in 2019 as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. The game takes place in the year 2552, where humanity is at war with the Covenant. The player takes on the role of "Noble 6", a member of the elite super-soldier squad "Noble Team" during the battle for the planet Reach. The game takes place a few weeks before the events of Halo: Combat Evolved.
Halo: Combat Evolved . Developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. It was originally released in 2001 for the Xbox game console. Two years later, a version for Microsoft Windows was released. On November 15, 2011, an updated edition of this game was released exclusively for the Xbox 360 called Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
Halo 2. Developed by Bungie and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game was released in 2004 for the Xbox console, in 2007 for Windows, in 2014 for Xbox One, and in 2020 for Windows. It is the second game in the Halo series and a sequel to Halo: Combat Evolved. The player takes on the roles of the human Master Chief (the protagonist of the first game) and the Elite Arbiter in the 26th century conflict between the human UNSC (United Nations Space Command) and the Covenant (an alliance of alien races).
Halo 3. Developed by Bungie Studios. The game is a continuation of the story started in Halo: Combat Evolved and continued in Halo 2. The game was released in 2007 for the Xbox 360 gaming console, in 2014 it was re-released as part of the Halo: Master Chief Collection for Xbox One, and in 2020 on personal computers running Windows in the same package.
Halo 3: ODST. A standalone expansion to Halo 3. Unlike the first three games, the expansion puts the player in the role of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) rather than the Master Chief. The expansion takes place in the Halo universe in 2552 during the events of Halo 2. While the main characters of Halo 2 are on Halo Delta, the plot of ODST is focused on the events taking place in New Mombasa on Earth during the Covenant invasion. The main character of the game is an unnamed Orbital Drop Shock Trooper nicknamed "Rookie". Troopers often land in single-person capsules launched from ships in low orbit. During the game, the New Kid loses contact with the rest of the team (Romeo, Dutch, Buck, and Mickey) and must find out what happened to them with the help of an AI named "Superintendent", who is responsible for the city's technical support.
Halo 4. Developed by 343 Industries for the Xbox 360 gaming console. It is the first game in the "Reclaimer Saga" - a new story in the Halo series. The game was released on November 6, 2012, and was re-released on personal computers in 2020 as part of the Halo: Master Chief Collection.
